Every girl likes to explore different fashion and style statements. From sleeveless floor-length gowns to strappy dresses for their romantic dates, they want to try it all to impress their sweetheart.
But, dark armpits are a problem that stops them from donning sleeveless dresses with confidence. Well, this is a common problem for many girls. To get you out of your shy zone and to make you feel confident in that strappy outfit, let us tell you a few things with which you can lighten your underarm skin. Include these in your daily routine to get fairer underarms in no time.
1. Milk and saffron
Saffron is a great ingredient to whiten your armpits. You just have to combine its goodness with some milk. Soak a few strands of saffron in two tablespoons of milk. Apply this mix on your armpits using a cotton ball. Let it stay for a few minutes before rinsing it off. This will also kill those germs and bacterias that lead to body odour.
2. Lemon
Use the best natural bleaching agent- lemon. It has skin bleaching properties along with antiseptic and antibacterial properties. Just take a thick lemon wedge and rub it on your underarms. You can also take lemon juice, and rub that under your arms with a cotton ball. After this, wash the area well and apply some moisturiser. Lemon helps to remove dead skin cells and lighten your skin naturally.
3. Orange peel
Next time you eat oranges, do not throw away the peel. Orange peel can be used to lighten your skin tone. Keep the peels under the sun for a few days. After that, grind those dried peels in a grinder and make a powder. Mix this powder with rose water and milk to make a thick paste of it. Use this as a scrub-cum-pack for your underarms. Keep it on for at least 10-15 minutes before rinsing it off. This would help you to get rid of the dead skin cells.
4. Natural exfoliation
Dead skin cells are one of the major culprits behind dark armpits. So, exfoliate your underarms regularly with natural scrubs. You can even try any of these scrubs:
Mix equal quantity of baking soda and rose water. Use this scrub to exfoliate your underarms skin. You can also add a few drops of cucumber juice in it. Mix a cup of brown sugar with three tablespoons of olive oil. Make a thick paste and scrub your underarm skin with this. After three to four minutes, rinse it off and apply a moisturiser.
5. Natural deodorant
Chemical deodorants are also a reason behind dark armpits. So, avoid using deodorants or antiperspirants. Instead, it is best to make a natural deodorant and use that. You can squeeze some lemon juice and keep that in a spray bottle. Use it whenever you feel the need. You can also use essential oil to save yourself from odour problems. Essential oils, like sage, rosemary, tea tree, etc., have antibacterial properties in them. If you have to use a deodorant, then avoid applying those directly on your skin, especially on your armpits. Use body mists instead.
6. Apple cider vinegar
Apple cider vinegar is another natural ingredient to get rid of darkened armpits. It takes care of many skin problems like body odour, acne, dark spots and blemishes. Mix some apple cider vinegar with either baking soda or rice flour to make a paste. Apply this paste under your arms. Wash it off after a few minutes to feel the difference.
7. Sandalwood
Take some sandalwood powder and mix it with either rose water or milk to make a paste. Apply this paste on your armpits and let it dry. After that, rinse it off. This paste will lighten your dark armpits and will leave you with fresh and fragrant underarms. Use this every day to notice a difference in your underarm skin.
